However, many schools around the world face persistent challenges related to infrastructure, storage capacity, and food distribution systems. In this context, modern food processing and packaging technologies play a crucial role. They help extend shelf life, maintain food safety, and simplify logistics, ensuring that nutritious meals can reach children consistently and reliably, even in environments where resources and facilities are limited.
Bio:
ERIC PINILLA is an Electrical and Electronic Engineer from the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, with a strong academic background that includes a Master of Science in Project Management and an MBA from ADEN Business School. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, having held key roles in services, engineering, and commercial operations within Tetra Pak Central America and the Caribbean. Throughout his career, Eric has led multidisciplinary teams, supported customers across the region, and contributed to the development of efficient, safe, and sustainable food systems. Since January 2024, Eric has been part of Tetra Pak’s Food for Development team, where he is responsible for advancing school feeding, dairy development, and food system initiatives across the Americas region. He works closely with governments, development partners, and industry stakeholders to strengthen programs that improve nutrition, access to safe food, and long‑term social impact.
