June 3
5:00 – 7:00pm, and a
t points during session breaks
This text will illustrate the variety of agricultural projects that have been integrated into my classroom as part of the course I teach, Introduction to Agriculture. This poster will share information about the development of the program, including successes and challenges and how fundraising and grants have sustained and grown the program. Images of Microgreens, hydroponics, aquaponics, mushrooms, and starting seedlings in the classroom will be some of the visuals included and topics covered. As well, the poster will feature the building of our school garden, with before and after photos.
Bio:

HEATHER LEWIS has been involved in school gardens and food for over 12 years, almost as long as I have been an educator. I am privileged to teach agriculture now as well as English Additional Language. Teaching agriculture, I have been able to invest more time in growing our school garden, and also have integrated indoor growing year round.
